Terrain Projections

Terrain Projection is a kinetic light installation that explores the physical phenomenon of shadow distortion by light motion.

Several lights mounted on robotic arms cast the shadow of a sculpted wire mesh on a projection screen. Both the movement of the lights and their colors can be controlled by the performers.

Terrain Projections was built by Marguerite Tricaud and Parker Heyl in December 2017 at the Interactive Architecture Lab, M.Arch Design for Performance and Interaction at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.

In January 2018, the project was installed as an interactive installation for the opening party of Beuboo Radio in Homerton (London).
